OCP has supported ITAD to deliver the evaluation of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation climate advocacy programme. The ‘2015 Strategy’ aimed at securing a positive outcome at the 2015 UNFCCC Paris neogitations. The evaluation found that CIFF had been successful in supporting key political and advocacy processes to ensure a robust and ambitious result within the Paris negotiations, and that the programmes funded had created a strong legacy for implementation of the Paris Agreement going forward.
OCP is working with PWA and CIDT to support the preparation of Rwanda’s $50 million application to the Green Climate Fund. We are preparing the financial appraisal for the project and looking at longer term financing models for mitigation and adaptation across a range of sectors, including housing, agriculture, and manufacturing.
OCP has prepared a report on international green growth best practices and how they might be best applied to the Bangladesh Context, including a review of the political economy challenges of mainstreaming climate change into policy and planning. The report forms part of the DFID Climage Change Programme in Bangladesh.
OCP is supporting DFID, the UK Met Office and the African Centre for Climate Policy to design and implement the £30 million WISER climate and weather information services programme in Africa. We are providing support on value for money analysis and creating the guidelines for assessing the socio-economic benefits and transformational impact of the programme.
We are working with PWC and Adam Smith International to develop effective financing and climate mainstreaming strategies for DFID’s £165 million Cities and Infrastructure for Growth (CIG) programme, having provided support to DFID on the economic appraisal and options design of the business case.
